CALGARY - The manager of an upscale Calgary restaurant has reached an agreement with Edmonton Oilers players after a dispute over a nearly $17,000 tab they rang up at a New Year’s Eve party.

The Calgary restaurant that accused members of the NHL Edmonton Oilers of refusing to pay their whole tab on New Year’s Eve is being investigated by the Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission An anonymous complaint was made to the commission suggesting Osteria de Medici served too much alcohol to the players and to others in their group.

Alex Ovechkin scored his 22nd and 23rd goals early in the third period, and Tomas Fleischmann added the go-ahead goal in the Washington Capitals’ 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. Ovechkin drew the Capitals within a goal at 32 seconds of the third, then tied it at 6:37 with a sharp-angle shot that eluded goalie Jeff Deslauriers.
